A total of 9 Indonesian Education University (UPI) students participated in the 6th Batch of SEA-Teacher Project. They will be stationed in Thailand and the Philippines. UPI also accepted 8 students from Thailand and the Philippines. The handover ceremony took place in the 3rd Floor Meeting Room of the University Center Building, UPI Campus, Jalan Dr. Setiabudhi No. 229 Bandung, Friday (19/1/2018).

According to the Head of the Office of International Education and Relations (OIER) Achmad Buchori Muslim, MA, Ph.D., this program is the 6th batch, the implementation is expected to be better than before, and students can enjoy their time, not being too serious academically , can have fun and enjoy spending time in Indonesia. On weekends, students will get free time and excursions at Saung Angklung Udjo and Gracia Hot Spring, to be able to enjoy their holidays in Indonesia. “On this occasion, UPI sent 9 students from various majors, such as Mathematics, International Program on Science Education (IPSE), English, Economics Education, Social Studies Education, and Physics, meanwhile 8 students were accepted at UPI. people, they come from majors in pre-school, physical education, English and primary English,” he said.

Those listed in the 6th batch were Miftah Khairina Bahari placed at Roosevelt College Inc, Philippines, from the International Program On Science Education/IPA Education, Minerva Daneya Utami was placed at Pangasinan State University, Philippines, English Education from Pend B. England, Nano Situmorang was placed at Pangasinan State University, Philippines, Economic Education/Pend Ekonomi), Wulandari Anugrah Wahyuni was placed at Chiang Rai Rajabhat University, Thailand, Physics Education from Physics Education, Rahma Fadhila was placed at Philippine Normal University, Philippines, Early Childhood Education from PGPAUD, Fitri Oktavia Putriasni was placed at the University Of The Immaculate Conception, Philippines, Primary Education from PGSD, Shinta Amalia was placed at Pangasinan State University, Philippines, Social Science Education from Social Studies Education, Devina Ekaniya was placed at Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University, Thailand, Mathema tics Education from Mathematics Education, and Siti Hanifah was placed at the University of the Immaculate Conception, Physical Education from PGSD Physical Education.
Meanwhile, those who came to Indonesia included Maria Andrea R. Gaspar from the University of Santo Tomas, the Philippines, from the Pre School field, Sophia Marie Alvero Pascual from the University of Santo Tomas, the Philippines, from the Pre School field, Jason B. Azures from Mindoro State College Of Agriculture And Technology, Philippines, English, and Kittikarn Wongrisung from Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University, Thailand, English. Teaching and practice in schools is the main activity of this program, he continued. The school is pre-determined by OIER based on interviews with students. These schools include, the Kidsville School, SMP Labschool, and Pelita Nusantara Elementary School and Pelita Nusantara Junior High School. The program lasts for 29 days. He explained, “The SEA-Teacher Project is an overseas PPL program held by UPI, takes place every semester and is managed by OIER, this program is one of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) programs. SEAMEO carries out various programs and projects aimed at developing human capacity in Southeast Asia. The countries in question include Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.” (dodiangga/judith)
